Thank you from Carwyn and Reninca

Dear all,

As most of you are probably now aware, on 29th March 2019, Reninca and I tragically and unexpectedly lost our 11 week old son, Noah. Following these difficult weeks, Reninca and I wanted to write and thank all of our HHA friends, supporters, partners, team and family who have gathered around us in such an incredible and loving way. We have been truly humbled by the support and prayers received and would like to express our deepest thanks to everyone.

Alongside everyone's love and prayers, we’ve also been overwhelmed by people's incredible generosity supporting the Noah Hill Memorial Fund. We had no expectation of what this fund would do, setting it up as a practical way for people to express their love for Noah instead of flowers or other gifts. We can’t put into words how moved we’ve been by people's response to this.

As I shared at Noah’s funeral, it has been both painful and poignant losing Noah at Easter, a time of great suffering but also of great hope. Whilst we have shared in the pain of Easter in a whole new way, thanks to your love and generosity, we have also experienced something of the hope of Easter too. In the coming months we will be prayerfully thinking through how best we can use these funds, but we are confident they will have a significant and life-saving impact to thousands more. Noah received the very best care possible. I will never forget walking into the resuscitation room of our local hospital and seeing an army of highly qualified staff and all the medicine and equipment you could dream of, all ready to fight for our boy. In countries like Haiti and South Sudan, most families aren’t offered this kind of care and they watch their babies slip away without any opportunity of hope. To these families, your support will make the world of difference and we will update you in the coming months on how this legacy will unfold.

For now, some family and friends have decided to join with us and take part in next year's Brighton Marathon on 19th April 2020 to raise money for our Maternal & Infant health work in memory of Noah. If you’d like to join us you’d be most welcome! We can provide free places whilst they last, so please do contact our Fundraiser, Tim, if you’d like to know more: Tim@hopehealthaction.org

We hope in the coming months we’ll get to thank many of you more personally, but for now, please be assured your kindness has meant more than you’ll ever know.

With much love and thanks

Carwyn and Reninca
