We’re currently recruiting for the following roles:

These roles are generally non-salaried positions, so an ideal opportunity for someone looking for a missionary placement, post-graduate opportunity, internship or career break.  Speaking French or Haitian Creole would be desirable in all roles.  However, if you can’t speak French or Haitian Creole, we’d still be happy to hear from you if you’d be willing and committed to learn as part of the placement.

These roles include working closely with our in- country partners and team, many of whom are faith based.  Applicants must feel comfortable living and working within a Christian ethos.

Haiti Assistant Programme Manager (12 month role):

The Assistant Programme Manager will work alongside our Programme Manager and other staff, implementing a range of projects at our partner hospital (one of the leading hospitals in north Haiti) and in our target communities. Most work will relate to our maternity, infant, neonatal and disability services. The role will include learning skills to assist with administrative tasks, logistics, monitoring projects, and implementing programmes. Applicants must be adaptable and flexible, and willing/able to work on their own and as part of a team.  HHA would be willing to receive applications from individuals who have not undertaken this kind of work before, but are quick to learn, have a heart for justice issues and can demonstrate their capacity to carry out the activities required for the role.

Haiti Neonatal & Paediatric Coordinator (3 month min role):

HHA supports one of the leading Neonatal and Paediatric Units in northern Haiti, caring for 6,300+ patient cases in 2016.  In partnership with our local Haitian team at Hopital Convention Baptiste d’Haiti and experienced UK Neonatal Consultants and Doctors with global health experience, HHA has some ambitious objectives for this unit in the coming years.  We’re looking for a qualified nurse or doctor, ideally with experience in neonatal or paediatric care to help on the ground in Haiti.  Applicants should be comfortable helping to develop this unit through training and general coordination/management.

Haiti Maternity Coordinator (3 month min role):

In 2012 we co-founded what’s become one of the leading Maternity Units in northern Haiti, providing 1,500+ deliveries per year including emergency obstetric care, as well as facility and community based antenatal and postnatal care.  As the unit continues to grow we’re looking for a qualified midwife, doctor or nurse (ideally with maternal health experience) to help grow this service in Haiti.  Applicants should be comfortable helping to develop this unit through training and general coordination/management.

Haiti Disability Coordinator (3 month min role):

HHA is one of the leading disability care providers in Haiti, having founded Haiti’s first spinal cord injury rehabilitation unit in 2010 and one of the few respite centres for children with disabilities in the country, which includes a community based rehabilitation (CBR) team.  We’re looking for an individual with experience caring for children with disabilities (for instance, a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, special needs education teacher etc.) to help assist in the development of our respite centre and CBR programme.  Applicants should be comfortable helping to develop this unit through training and general coordination/management.

Haiti Wash Coordinator (3 month min role):

HHA co-founded what has now become one of the leading hospitals in northern Haiti, a 100+ bed facility that supported over 20,000 patients in 2016.  Our local staff at Hopital Convention Baptiste d’Haiti and international team at HHA are keen to improve the hospitals water and sanitation processes for the safety and well being of patients and staff.  Recent developments have included installing the hospitals first water filtration system and fundraising for a new hospital incinerator.  HHA is looking for someone with experience or qualifications in the WASH sector to help coordinate our growing efforts in this area.

Please contact us today for more information on any of the above roles.
