Carol VanArtsdalen
Carol is one of the founding members of The Haiti Health Trust (now Hope Health Action US) and currently serves as board secretary. Carol is a physiotherapist by profession and has visited Haiti numerous times with her husband Jim. Alongside the day to day administration of HHA US, she helps lead teams to Haiti and is very actively involved in her local church – Grace Church, Bethlehem, PA.

Meredith Hutchinson
Meredith is a photographer and practitioner who has spent the last 10 years in over 15 countries working with international NGOs and grassroots movements to create art, story, and strategy to further the fight of social justice. Her work has been featured by a range of media outlets including the BBC, CNN, Newsweek, ABC, Le Monde, Ms. Magazine, and The Washington Post.

Michael Goldsmith
Michael lives in Missouri and is the US/Haiti Country Director for Hope Health Action, traveling to Haiti multiple times a year. Outside of work he is an accomplished designer having managed his own marketing company while assisting HHA with various design projects. In addition, Michael is a freelance jazz artist/clinician and currently operates a warehouse and logistics company with his wife, Melissa.

Carwyn Hill
CEO & Co-Founder
Carwyn co-founded HHA following a visit to Haiti in 2005 and has since lead the charity, including managing grants as an implementing partner on behalf of DFID, UN, USAID and other. Carwyn also sits on the board of End Poverty 2030 and HHA US.

Andrea Brown, MS, OTR/L
Andrea is a licensed and registered occupational therapist. She has a strong passion for promoting independence for children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities. Andrea has worked in a wide array of rehabilitation settings including; schools, hospitals and outpatient settings. She also holds specialty certification in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with neurological and vision impairments. After being introduced to the needs of Haiti through medical service trips it is her passion to help strengthen the relationships and partnerships of individuals and organizations to support the mission of Hope Health Action.

Ken Telfort
Born and raised in Haiti, Ken studied Medical Technology at Kean University, Project Management at Stevens Institute of Technology and earned his MBA at DeSales University. Ken worked in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries in companies such as Johnson and Johnson, Pfizer, American Red Cross and as a board member for the nonprofit organization Third Street Alliance. He currently works for the medical device company B.Braun Medical, Inc. Ken brings a vast array of experience and expertise in project management and operational excellence to the organization. In his leisure time, Ken loves to travel and enjoys quality time with his family and friends

Erin Bendas, DO MA FAAHPM
Erin is the Section Chief of Palliative & supportive care at St. Luke’s University Health Network, a large health network in eastern Pennsylvania. She also has the roles of Associate Program Director for the Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship (a training track for physicians interested in pursuing careers in this specialty) and the Chair of the Ethics Committee. Erin’s research areas include use of Narrative Medicine for Graduate Medical Education and provider and nursing resilience in the age of COVID. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 dogs, horseback riding, crafting and traveling.
