Carwyn co-founded HHA following a visit to Haiti in 2005 and has since lead the charity, including managing grants as an implementing partner on behalf of DFID, UN, USAID and other. Carwyn also sits on the board of End Poverty 2030 and HHA US and was awarded an MBE in 2023 for services to international healthcare.

Doug Cleary
Finance Director
Doug joined HHA in July 2023. As a chartered accountant with an extensive career in senior corporate management, within both audit and commerce, he provides insight and strategic overview whilst being ‘hands-on’ with day-to-day financial operations. He has been associated with HHA for many years, having previously visited and organised volunteer trips to Haiti, and undertaken various fundraising activities for the charity. He is delighted to join the team and help HHA with its mission to help others and change lives.

Haiti/US Country Director
Michael lives in Missouri and is the US/Haiti Country Director for Hope Health Action, traveling to Haiti multiple times a year. Outside of work he is an accomplished designer having managed his own marketing company while assisting HHA with various design projects. In addition, Michael is a freelance jazz artist/clinician and currently operates a warehouse and logistics company with his wife, Melissa.

Jemina Talja
East Africa Director

Safeguarding Coordinator
Carol has been a long-term volunteer for HHA having worked closely with the UK, Haiti and East Africa teams to improve safeguarding and administrative processes. She now leads on all things safeguarding including training local teams and visiting volunteers. Carol has also helped with many of HHA's fundraising events from quiz nights to trans-continental handbike relays!

Aggrey joined HHA in May 2024 as the East Africa Human Resource Manager. As an experienced Human Resource practitioner with over 10 years in the field, he is passionate about fostering a supportive and productive workplace. Aggrey holds a post graduate diploma in Human Resource Management and Project Planning and Management, a degree in Public Administration and Management and other short courses. Throughout his career, Aggrey has worked across diverse industries both local and international, focusing on building strong teams, enhancing employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with labour laws. Previously, she served as Country Director for Seed Effect South Sudan and Head of Operations for Seed Effect Uganda, later co-founding Yenet, a Christian NGO supporting refugees. Now, as EA Head of Programs at Hope Health Action, she drives impactful initiatives restoring health, dignity, and empowerment to vulnerable communities, embodying her values of adding value and serving with compassion. Her remarkable journey from refugee to leader showcases her resilience and dedication to creating positive change.

Robert holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Nutrition from Makerere University Kampala and now works as Project Manager for our Nutrition and livelihoods work, following on from his previous role as Nutrition Officer. Robert is an experienced Community and Clinical Nutritionist with a strong history of working with non-profit organisations and public authorities. He is passionate about serving people living with disabilities and happy to be part of the HHA EA family offering Nutrition Technical Support for the improvement of nutritional status, health and well-being of vulnerable people.

Agnes is South Sudanese, originally a teacher by profession, but now also a wheelchair technician. Agnes worked for HHA as a Community Based Rehabilitation worker for 3 years before becoming a wheelchair technician in 2021. She now manages the CBR teams in Uganda and South Sudan - a team of 31! Agnes is passionate about serving people with disabilities and loves to work in the community.

Guylee has been involved in HHA’s work since first volunteering in Haiti in 2009 and has led a diverse range of design, construction and publicity work ever since. He designed and oversaw the construction of the hospital chapel, living in Haiti between 2016 and 2018. HHA recently welcomed Guylee back to the team, to lead the design and project management of our various building and infrastructure projects in both Haiti and East Africa. Guylee lives in Tromsø, Northern Norway.
