HHA is privileged to have a dedicated team of staff and volunteers who work to fulfill the mission of HHA.
CEO & Co-Founder
Carwyn co-founded HHA following a visit to Haiti in 2005 and has since lead the charity, including managing grants as an implementing partner on behalf of DFID, UN, USAID and other. Carwyn also sits on the board of End Poverty 2030 and HHA US.
Joined HHA in 2015 to head up our finances, following various other roles in the Finance sector. Ransford is a Chartered Certified Accountant and helps manage HHA’s day-to-day financial tasks, as well as broader strategic decisions.
Haiti Finance Development
A CIMA Fellow Accountant with extensive experience in the charity sector, both at home and abroad. Joined HHA in 2015 to oversee the development of a new Finance system at the partner hospital HHA support in Haiti.
Fundraising & Communications Manager
Sarah-Lynne joined HHA at the start of 2021, bringing many years of marketing and communications experience working with international brands and providing growth for businesses and charities around the world. Sarah-Lynne is responsible for coordinating our fundraising strategies, managing our communications, developing new partnerships and building our support base.
Joined HHA in 2015 as the Fundraising Coordinator, Tim now looks after various operational and logistical matters, such as IT, shipping and procurement.
Grants and Trusts Coordinator
Jemina has a long history in fundraising and third sector senior management in the UK and Europe, and she has also worked as a fundraising consultant delivering growth and strategy development for small charities. Jemina has worked for a range of organisations and causes, but her specialist areas are international development and gender. Alongside working for HHA she currently heads a small international development charity delivering projects in Southern India.
Haiti/US Country Director
Michael lives in Missouri and is the US/Haiti Country Director for Hope Health Action, traveling to Haiti multiple times a year. Outside of work he is an accomplished designer having managed his own marketing company while assisting HHA with various design projects. In addition, Michael is a freelance jazz artist/clinician and currently operates a warehouse and logistics company with his wife, Melissa.
Haiti Healthcare Coordinator
Rob began volunteering with HHA in 2016 setting up the ER department in Haiti and has also visited HHA's work in Uganda multiple times. He is an emergency nurse and clinical teacher with a background in tropical diseases, now acting as our Haiti Healthcare Coordinator. Spare time in Haiti involves fixing motorbikes and bacon making!
Haiti Operations Coordinator
Phil is spending a year with HHA in Haiti, managing our many operational and logistical needs. He brings with him decades of relevant experience from a long career in the Navy and various Project Management roles. Phil is a big Rugby fan and enjoys motorbike touring, but has wisely decided to put that on hold while in Haiti!
Haiti Disability Coordinator
Brooke is a Physiotherapist from New Orleans, USA, who has joined HHA as a volunteer to manage and develop our range of disability projects in Haiti throughout 2021. Brooke loves baking, and all sorts of outdoor pursuits.
East Africa Country Director
Izzy joined HHA at the start of 2020, and brings a wealth of development experience having worked in East Africa and many other countries around the globe, project managing a range of activities, especially disability programmes.
East Africa Finance and Administration Office
Florence is our East Africa Finance and Administration Officer. She is responsible for controlling the finances for our ever expanding portfolio of projects in East Africa.
Patrick Wolyan Lagan
East Africa Programme Manager
Patrick is our East Africa Programme Manager and has been working with HHA since 2017. He has a wealth of experience managing projects in South Sudan but currently lives in Uganda as a refugee having been displaced by the war. He recently completed his WHO Intermediate Wheelchair Technician Course and is passionate about caring for the most vulnerable, with a real heart for disability and education.
East Africa Senior Field officer
Isaac is our East Africa Senior Field Officer. He’s been working with HHA since 2018 project managing a lot of our East Africa programmes. He recently completed his WHO Intermediate Wheelchair Technician Course and is passionate about ‘bringing positive change in the lives of persons affected by war and restoring hope to the hopeless.’
HHA’s Driver and Watchman
Anthony is the driver and watchman for HHA. His family fled the South Sudan war in 2017 and have since been living in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, one of the largest settlements in the world. Anthony is an experienced driver and trustworthy watchman who loves spending time with our visiting teams and helping out wherever help is needed.
